Hello! My name is Andrea, owner of Northern Art Photography. I am so glad that you have visited my site and are looking to find out a bit more about me.
I was born in Petoskey, MI a block away from the lake and right next to the skating rink. I spent my summers on the water and my winters skating, sledding, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing at Nub’s Nob. After spending 21 fabulous years there, I met a wonderful man and got married. He lived in Gaylord at the time so I moved there. It offered more Northern Michigan wonders like snowmobiling, four-wheeling and golf.
After almost five years of marriage, we have a beautiful two and half year old boy, three great dogs, a barn cat (who sleeps on the bed), and have moved to Kingsley (just south of Traverse City). We have 10 peaceful acres for our little family to roam and grow.
My photographic career started ten years ago with an old Nikon film SLR. I grew to love looking at life through the lens of creativity. Each image I took wove a story that I wanted to share with the world.
I have owned my own photography business for eight years now and that enthusiasm has only grown more intense. I am first and foremost a photojournalist. I tell stories through images. I create photos that blend classical, elegant imagery with photojournalistic perception and bring them to life with contemporary processes.
